This lesson is titled, I’M CONFIDENT!
Are you living the life that God created you to live?
It’s tragic when we don’t even attempt something for God because we don’t have the confidence.
I. We don’t need self-confidence. We need to cultivate God confidence.
1 Corinthians 10:12
“Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” NKJV
1 Corinthians 10:12
“Don’t be so naive and self-confident. You’re not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless. Cultivate God-confidence.” MSG
II. Why shouldn’t we be self-confident?
A. The Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (NKJV)
B. The Bible says our flesh is weak.
“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (NKJV)
“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” (NKJV)
III. Three different Biblical truths to help us cultivate a God confidence.
A. I’m confident because, God is always for me.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (NKJV)
We don’t live for His approval. We can live from His approval.
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (NKJV)
We are living from the posture of one who is already pleased with us.
“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings for you.”
B. I’m confident because, God always helps me.
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”.
“So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” (NKJV)
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” (NKJV)
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.” (NKJV)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (NKJV)
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (NKJV)
C. I’m confident because, God is still working in me.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”; (NKJV)
God is for you, because God is helping you, and because God is not finished with you yet.
